The second-hand shopping app has revised its size classifications for female and kids' apparel failing to inform all users about the change. Digital Channels Backlash Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification than originally posted as a result of the reclassification. The platform stated the new system was more in line with similar services. They have suggested members to examine their items and manually change the size where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Sizing System Modifications Before the change, the sizes had both one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Member Experiences Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she said. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item". "This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million members, with 18 million British users. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: last year, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
